Lilac Pâtisserie
Come for: breakfast, brunch, and desserts
Location: 1017 State St., Santa Barbara, CA 93101
This gluten-free bakery, owned by Gillian and Alam Muralles, features beautiful cakes, baked goods, and entrées to the Santa Barbara community and tourist hub. This elegant space provides the perfect environment to enjoy professionally crafted treats and quality time with friends. Lilac’s bakes their cakes with four to five levels of deliciousness and serves cake slices large enough to share around the table; not that you would want to share after your first bite. The tarts- blueberry, lemon meringue, key lime, coconut cream, banana cream, and fresh fruit- are also an excellent treat to indulge in with their delectable filling and sweet crust.

Handlebar Coffee Roasters
Come for: coffee and tea
Location: 128 East Perdido St. Unit A, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
Opened in 2011 by a couple who found each other through cycling in Europe, they’ve dedicated themselves to perfecting the concept of brewing the best coffees in the world. Most of their coffee comes from Central and South America and Africa. With the use of a German-built coffee roaster named “Hercules,” they have become a popular destination for coffee drinkers in the Santa Barbara community. Handlebar also teams up with local businesses to incorporate their products into their own- like Twenty-Four Blackbirds Chocolates who provides supplies for their hot chocolate and mochas- and to serve treats from places like Renaud’s Pâtisserie
